Travel and Ground Transport

(Tucson, Arizona - AZ, USA)

Central Tucson is only about 10 miles / 16 km north of Tucson International Airport and is made accessible by public bus, shared-ride vans, hotel shuttles and relatively inexpensive taxi cabs.

All of these services depart from the roadway on the lower level of the terminal forecourt and leave throughout the day.

Buses

The cheapest option for getting to downtown Tucson from Tucson International Airport (TUS) is to take bus number 11 or 25 directly from the terminal to the city. These services are operated by Sun Tran and buses run every hour; call: +1 520 792 9222 for further information.

Shuttle Buses

For added convenience, traveling to the city and hotels by shuttle bus is a step up from the public bus service and ideal for large families or groups. Arizona Stagecoach offers shared-ride minibus services that are timed to coincide with every flight arrival and can be booked from the reservation desk in the Baggage Claim area downstairs.

Hotel Shuttle Buses

Many of Tucson's hotel operations provide free shuttle buses for their guests and it is worth inquiring before booking your room whether the hotel of your choice offers this service. If you haven't already booked, you can request a hotel shuttle from the information centers in the Baggage Claim areas.

Taxi Cabs

The fastest way to get to nearby hotels and downtown Tucson from Tucson International Airport is to take a taxi. There are three taxi companies operating from the airport: AAA Airport Taxi, Allstate Cab and Yellow Cab. Taxis go from the front of the terminal building and there is no extra charge for sharing.
